Why Aims Homecare was established.

Aims Homecare was established on a straightforward principle: everyone should be able to remain safe, independent and comfortable in their own home, with their dignity intact. Home care is arranged quickly by a local Surrey team who know each family and each carer by name.

Our story

Fifteen years caring for Surrey families.

Where Aims Homecare began in 2011.

Aims Homecare began in 2011 with a small team of carers in Surrey and the conviction that domiciliary care works best when it is local. Fifteen years later we have supported more than 2,000 customers across Surrey, with bases scattered across the county — and calls are still answered by a person on the care team, not a call centre.

Locally run, part of a wider group.

Aims Homecare is part of the Aims Group, which provides the clinical governance, training standards and recruitment reach of a substantial organisation. Day-to-day decisions about your care, however, are made by the Leatherhead team who deliver it, which means direct accountability and carers who know the families they support.

Continuity of carers, above everything.

A rota of unfamiliar carers undermines good care. We match every customer with the same carer, or with a small and consistent team, and introduce them before care begins. Familiar faces build the trust on which good care depends.

Working in partnership with families.

Families are part of the care team. Care plans are written and reviewed with you, and we keep you informed between visits, so that whether you live nearby or several hours away you know how your relative is doing.

Built for rapid care

The infrastructure behind every visit.

Many agencies rely on carers' own cars, paper rotas and answering machines. We operate our own vehicles, coordinators and scheduling technology, so that visits are reliable and changes are acted on promptly.

01

Our own dedicated vehicle fleet.

Aims carers drive company vehicles, owned, insured and maintained by us, which removes the delays that come with public transport and unreliable private cars. When a visit is scheduled the carer arrives, and an urgent request can be met by putting a carer on the road within minutes.

02

Your named, dedicated care coordinator.

Every family is assigned a care coordinator: one named person who builds the rota, briefs the carers, answers your calls and holds responsibility for the detail of your care. There is no need to repeat your circumstances to a different person each time you telephone.

03

The Aims app, built in-house.

Our care app was designed and developed in-house for the way we work. It connects carers, coordinators and schedules in real time: visits are logged as they happen, changes reach carers immediately, and urgent requests are dispatched to the nearest available carer.

04

Backup cover, built into every rota.

Sickness, traffic and emergencies are unavoidable. Because our vehicles, coordinators and app work together, replacement cover is arranged before a gap appears. Someone is always available, and a scheduled visit is not left uncovered.

Our carers

How we recruit and train carers.

The quality of home care depends on the quality of the carers who deliver it, so we invest in ours at every stage of their employment.

Recruited for warmth and reliability.

Every carer passes enhanced DBS background checks, referencing and values-based interviews. We recruit for warmth and reliability first, because practical skills can be taught and character cannot.

Trained continuously, not once.

Full NVQ support, moving and handling, medication management, dementia awareness and first aid, with regular supervision and refresher training, not one-off inductions.

Supported by an experienced office team.

Every Aims carer is employed, supervised and supported, and is never left to manage a difficulty alone. Backup cover means someone is always available.

Measuring outcomes

What our care plan reviews show.

We review every care plan at regular intervals and record how our customers are doing, so that the effect of home care can be measured rather than asserted.
