Holiday care

Holiday care
at home or away.

Holiday care allows a trusted carer to travel with you from Surrey, to the coast, a family wedding or a week with the grandchildren, so that needing care does not mean missing the occasion. When the family carer takes a break instead, we provide the cover at home.

Understanding holiday care

Two ways holiday care can work.

Holiday care operates in two directions. Where your relative needs support, one of our Surrey carers can travel with them, or with the whole family, so that the week at the coast, the wedding or the visit to relatives still takes place, with washing, dressing, medication and mobility managed in the background. Where you are the person providing care day to day, we cover at home while you go away, following the same routine precisely. That second arrangement is our respite care, and we have provided both for many years.

What's included

What holiday care includes for families.

Whether a carer travels with you or covers at home in Surrey, the same standards apply. Typical support includes the following.

Pre-trip planning

Medication lists, equipment, accessibility checks, sorted before you set off.

Support on the journey

Help with the car, train or coach, with comfort stops planned in advance.

Personal care away from home

Washing and dressing handled discreetly in hotels or family homes.

Medication on the move

The correct dose at the correct time, wherever you are staying.

Mobility support & pacing

Days planned around energy: beach in the morning, rest before dinner.

Mealtimes & evenings out

Discreet support at the table throughout the occasion.

Overnight reassurance

A carer nearby through the night, in unfamiliar surroundings.

Time off for family

With a carer present, relatives can enjoy the holiday too.

Holiday cover at home

The existing routine maintained while the usual carer is away.

Where we can support you

Holiday care travelling with you nationwide.

Our carers travel from Surrey and across Surrey to wherever the occasion is held, staying in the hotel, the holiday let or a spare room, and working discreetly alongside the family.

Breaks and trips within the UK.

A week in Cornwall, a few nights in the Cotswolds, or a return to a familiar seaside town. Your carer provides the practical care morning and evening, and joins the rest of the day at whatever distance the family prefers.

Weddings and family occasions.

Weddings, significant birthdays, anniversaries and christenings all present practical difficulties. The carer ensures your relative is dressed, comfortable and present for the photographs and the speeches, while the rest of the family enjoys the day.

Extended stays with relatives.

A fortnight at a daughter's house, or Christmas at a son's. A carer can travel too, so that a visit does not become full-time caring for the host family. The personal care remains our responsibility.

Holiday care

from £28/hour

For holiday cover at home, our same visiting and live-in rates apply, from £22 per visit or £225 per 24h live-in. For travelling care, a written quote covering the carer's time, travel and accommodation is agreed before you book, so that costs are settled in advance. Every price is a starting "from" rate, and your exact quote is confirmed after a free physical assessment at your home. Same rates 7 days a week, with no weekend or bank-holiday premiums.

How it works

How to arrange holiday care with us.

1

Tell us the plan.

Where and when you are going, who is travelling, and what support is needed. Earlier notice gives a wider choice of carers.

2

A free assessment at home.

We visit at home to record routines, medication and mobility, and to establish what would make the trip work.

3

Carer matching and a written quote.

A DBS-checked carer your relative meets before the trip, and a written quote covering every cost, agreed in advance.

4

The holiday itself, quietly supported.

Care is provided discreetly in the background, our Surrey care team remains on call throughout, and the family returns rested.

Holiday care questions

Common questions about holiday care.

Yes, anywhere in the United Kingdom. Your carer travels with you, stays in the hotel, holiday let or a relative's spare room, and provides the same support as at home: personal care, medication, mobility and company. For many families it is the difference between abandoning holidays altogether and continuing to take them.

The family covers the carer's travel, accommodation and meals for the trip, in addition to their care hours. This is standard practice for travelling care. Every cost is set out in a written quote before you book, and that quote is what you pay.

Our holiday care covers the United Kingdom, where we can guarantee the backup cover, insurance and regulatory oversight the service requires. For trips overseas, please still call us: we will help you work through what support would be needed and how to arrange it properly.

Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons families contact us. If you care for a parent or partner and need a proper break, our respite care maintains their routine exactly as you run it, from daily visits through to short-term live-in cover. You take the holiday and your relative remains at home without disruption.

For travelling care, a few weeks' notice is preferable. It allows the widest choice of carers and time for introductions before departure. Plans do change, however, so please call regardless and we will tell you exactly what is possible in the time available.

Yes. A carer can support a single day, helping your relative get ready, travelling with them, and remaining discreetly on hand through the ceremony and the reception. For many families it is what makes attendance possible at all.
