Hospital discharge deadlines to meet.
A ward may confirm a discharge date at short notice and provide a list of equipment. We convert that list into a fully set-up room, ready for discharge day rather than weeks afterwards.
From a single grab rail to a complete care room fit-out, we advise on, source, purchase, deliver and install the equipment needed for care at home in Surrey.
Care room set-up
A hospital discharge is often accompanied by a list of equipment that nobody has explained: a profiling bed, a pressure-relieving mattress, rails and a commode. We convert that list into a room that is ready for use, advising on what is genuinely required, sourcing it through suppliers we know, and delivering, installing and explaining each item, in many cases in time for discharge day.
What we can supply and set up
Whether a single item is required or the whole room, we handle the advice, the ordering, the delivery and the set-up.
Adjustable positioning, with mattresses that protect the skin.
Assisted sitting and standing for those with limited strength.
Transfers between bed and chair are carried out safely.
Fixed support positioned where it is most needed.
Ramps make doorsteps and thresholds passable again.
Toileting aids chosen for discretion and dignity.
Alerts if a fall occurs between visits, day or night.
Small items that make daily routines easier to manage.
We move the furniture, replan the room and position everything.
How a fit-out works
We visit, measure the room and plan around the person rather than a catalogue: how they move, where they sleep and what will genuinely help.
A written list of the equipment that is genuinely needed. Where an item is unnecessary, we will say so.
Established brands ordered through suppliers we have worked with for years, with trade pricing passed on to you.
We assemble and position each item, then show you and your carers how it is used safely before we leave.
For hospital discharges, we can often have the room ready for discharge day.
Our buy-back offer
When equipment is no longer needed, we can buy it back from you, subject to condition and our current need, so the kit goes on to help another Surrey family instead of gathering dust or going to the tip.
Why families use it
A ward may confirm a discharge date at short notice and provide a list of equipment. We convert that list into a fully set-up room, ready for discharge day rather than weeks afterwards.
There is no need to borrow a vehicle, work through flat-pack instructions or judge whether the right product has been bought. We deliver, build and position everything.
The team that provides the care also sets up the room, so the equipment matches the care plan and there is one number to call.
Before you buy anything
Some equipment may be available free of charge through an NHS or social services occupational therapy assessment. We will tell you when that is the better route before you purchase anything, including where it means we supply less.

Equipment questions
For most single items, such as a grab rail, a commode or a rise recliner, within days. A complete care-room fit-out typically takes a little longer, depending on supplier stock, but because we work with preferred suppliers who know us well, we can usually move faster than a family managing it alone. Tell us your deadline and we will confirm what is achievable.
Yes. This is the most common reason families contact us. Provide the discharge team's equipment list and a date, and we will work backwards from it: assessment, ordering, delivery and set-up, so that the room is ready on the day your relative comes home. The assessment can be carried out while they are still in hospital, alongside the free care assessment.
In some cases, yes, and we will tell you when that is the better route. An NHS or social services occupational therapy assessment can provide some equipment free of charge; the trade-offs are usually waiting time and a narrower choice. Some families purchase privately for speed, particularly around a hospital discharge, or for items the NHS does not provide. See our funding & assessments guide for how to request an OT assessment.
When the equipment is no longer needed, telephone the office. We will assess its condition, offer a valuation and, where we are able to take it, collect it ourselves, so disposal is not left to you. Everything bought back is refurbished and safety-checked before it is used again. Buy-back is subject to the item's condition and our current need, and we will tell you clearly what we can and cannot accept.
We use a small number of preferred suppliers with whom we have worked over 15 years, chosen for the reliability of their equipment and their service. We use established brands, and because we order regularly we receive trade pricing that is passed on to you. We are not tied to any single manufacturer, so the advice we give is not influenced by a supplier.
In most cases, yes. If you have already bought a bed, chair or aid, or have been given one, we can assemble it, position it appropriately in the room and show you and your carers how to use it safely. If an item is unsuitable or unsafe for your relative's needs, we will say so rather than install it and leave.

Aims Homecare arranges care equipment and complete care room set-up across Surrey from our office on Kingston Road in Leatherhead. Families come to us for a profiling bed in Surrey delivered and assembled before a hospital discharge, mobility equipment, hoists and rise recliners and grab rails, ramps and daily living aids. Because the same local team also provides the care, hospital discharge equipment in Surrey is planned around a real care plan rather than sold from a catalogue, and our care equipment buy-back means good kit is never wasted.
A room set-up works best alongside the right care. Many families pair a fit-out with reablement care after a hospital stay, hourly visiting care for daily support, or night care when the new equipment is part of overnight safety. In each case the process begins with a conversation. Tell us what the hospital has asked for and we will plan the room from there.
